Sujata Mastani
By : Unknown"Almost every Punekar's hands and mouth agreed many years ago that, as far as Mastani is concerned, there is no need to involve your brain.”
Yes, I am talking about The Sujata Mastani, established in 1966 as a Mastani giant.
The ambiance is hygienic and well clean. It is situated on the busy street so you may not get a place to sit and chat with your friends.
Not to mention, this place is heavily crowded by the people who are standing on the road to taste the sip of fabulous Mastani.
The place is not hard to find because of the ever constant large crowd outside it.
The Sujata Mastani is truly the Ice cream and mastani lovers paradise! The service is quick and efficient. And the Mastani is to die for!
It’s the place where you will find the best mastani in the town. The test of the mastani is so good that you can’t stop with only one.The Mastani and the Ice cream is just delicious and leaves you craving for more, and almost anything you get here is going to excite your taste buds.
Sujata Mastani is too much popular for its never changing unbeatable flavor of 100% natural fruits and fast service.
I have personally tasted each and every mastani at Sujata since the year 2000. I would love to mention that my best friend Nikhil Kondhalkar is the director of the Sujata mastani.
If you are thinking that only the mastani lovers should dig in here, give it a check again, because this place has lot to offer other than just the mastani.

Vaishali restaurant
By : UnknownPune is extremely famous all over the world for its old restaurants. And if ever a list was made to find out the most popular one in the city, Vaishali Restaurant would win hands down. It is not an overstatement when we say that a visit to the city of Pune is incomplete without stepping into this restaurant.
Vaishali is situated amidst the old
colleges of the city. However, its patrons are not restricted to college goers
only. People from all walks of life including professionals, old timers and
socialites come together here to catch up on good old days.
History
This restaurant started modestly in 1958 as Madras Health Home by
Jagannath Shetty. It was just a popular hangout for youngsters, wannabe actors
and politicians then who would sit there and discuss everything under the sun
over their favorite south Indian delicacies and filter coffee. It then became
Vaishali in 1977. Later on, changes were made even to the décor and the menu.
Ambiance
Today they have an indoor seating area, a garden restaurant and a
terrace (usually open in the evenings) which accommodate more than 275 people
at one time. The garden area which is the most popular of the lot is surrounded
by lush trees and covered with canopies. It is divided into family corner,
general area and the smoking section. The décor has changed with time, yet is
minimal with granite tables and plastic chairs. But the personalized attention,
the aroma of sambar and dosas and the lively faces of its regular
visitors is what makes the difference here.
In the evening (5 PM to10.30 PM) they have special chaat items and the most popular of these is shev potato dahi puri popularly known as SPDP. This is tangy and lip-smacking. Also, the bhel here is quite good. Pizzas, juices and milkshakes feature on the menu too. But then don’t miss on the fresh brewing filter coffee which comes with a strong yet sweet flavor.
Food is yummy to say the least. Customer service is exceptional. They are warm, courteous and quick in service. Apparently, even the staff here comprises old-timers who have been here for more than 20 years. The restaurant has lots of awards to its credit like Excellency and Quality awards for maintaining the best kitchen and quality of food for decades. As far as prices are concerned, they have increased with time but are still not heavy on the pocket. They should have a facility to pay by credit card as well. Huge crowds ensure long waiting time. Parking is a problem too especially for the two wheelers though a facility is available here.

Hyatt Pune
By : UnknownHyatt is an open market style dining experience with several live counters which meander from the lobby.
Ambiance
Very good. The outdoor seating in the balcony overlooks the
Nagar road, but one doesn't disturbed by the vehicle noise.Nice layout, plus,
the staff helps out efficiently to get the table of your choice.
The Cafe at Hyatt Regency Pune is light and bright and is deceptively large, simply because it is not one big square space. We had Sunday brunch here and I must say I liked the experience.
Food
The Sunday brunch is served only in the Cafe now and the Italian restaurant La Terrazza is used as a children's play area. I must say I do miss the Italian specialities, but pizza (do try the pizza la terraza with parma ham) is available at the Cafe and there is a decent pasta counter, albeit vegetarian. You are presented with a wide variety of desserts, in the lobby, as you walk in for the Sunday brunch. It is quite a glamorous sight with tarts, cakes, chocolate fountains and lollipops taking centre stage.
Don't miss the home-made ice creams which are outstanding. Hyatt is pretty well known for the extraordinary quality of patisserie and this continues with the delicacies offered for the Sunday brunch. It actually makes you watch what you eat for lunch when you know what is in store for dessert! As most Sunday brunches, you have Indian, Mexican, Japanese, Asian cuisines and so on to choose from. To my mind the Italian cold cuts (coppa, prosciutto, salami and mortadella) are a great way to start, followed by barbecue grills (prawns, squid, steak and chicken with a simple marination of salt, pepper, olive oil and herbs). This would be my pick along with the authentic range of Arabic mezze.
The a la carte menu also has undergone quite a change with more emphasis on Indian cuisine — a huge selection of kebabs and regional main courses. An interesting mezze sampler, South Indian sampler and pakoda sampler — all vegetarian, are welcome new entries and I see much more Asian dishes on the new menu too.
Great quality of food. Missing the Italian touch at the Sunday brunch.
Must try: Arabic mezze, salads, desserts, wine, shezwan food.
Cost for two is (A la carte) Rs. 2000, Sunday brunch package Rs. 1350 (incl of taxes) and another Rs. 1000 including drinks.
